Ebook Sales Exceed Sales of Hardback Books

If you’ve been watching the news of late, you’ve seen that ebook sales have just surpassed the sale of Hardbacks.

This from a recent article on Yahoo.

Regardless of the exact numbers, one thing is for sure, ebooks are trending UPWARDS and physical books are trending DOWNWARDS.

I’ve always taken any physical book that I’ve done and produced an ebook version of the same book

I’ve been doing that for years. Ill continue to do so. I recommend that YOU do the same. It certainly can’t hurt.

In MANY cases, I would (and still do) give the ebook away for free. Why not? What I’m really looking for is to get people to buy my other more expensive products and services.

I suggest you seriously consider following my lead.

  1. I hope that publishers find a way to charge appropriately for e books so that authors get a decent percentage and readers don't have to pay inflated prices if they prefer a digital copy.

Giving content away for free doesn't seem quite the right approach for me personally as a writer. The hard work that goes into writing and revising a novel should be valued, I think. Perhaps this would be different if writing were no the person's primary (or only) occupation.
